2,000 BEACH CLEANs IN 2018

How we met our goal of 2,000 beach cleans in 2018

Last year we set ourselves the goal of encouraging over 2,000 people to join our beach cleans and we’re delighted to say we exceeded that goal! Our mission was to build an army of beach clean heroes, who have now become our ginormous family of eco-rebels ready to come together and save our seas!

The year kicked off with a surprise nomination for a ‘Litter Hero’ award at the Keep Britain Tidy Awards, we were one of the top 3 finalists in the country!!

The year got better and better with bigger beach cleans than ever, some of which saw over 200 beach cleaners at one time!! Here's a look back at some of the best moments!

#LoveYourBeach

On one of the worst weather days of the year we learnt how hardcore our community really are! They came out in gale force winds and rain, collecting litter and helping us to make this Valentine’s #LOVEYOURBEACH trash heart with local artist, Irene Soler.

Litter Heroes

We started beach clean season with a bang! Our Superhero Silent Disco Beach Clean for the Great British Spring Clean! Over 250 litter heroes swooped in and collected over 250kg of litter in just 3 hours! t here.

End Plastic Pollution!

The Earth Day Silent Disco Beach Clean! Over 200 Brightonians came out dressed as their favourite gift of nature, a reminder of how much we are fighting for in our beautiful planet!

World Ocean's Day

We teamed up with local artist Irene Soler who’s been collecting thousands of bottle tops for her Volks Railway art installation - A Drop in the Ocean.

Hallowclean!

Our second annual Spooktacular Hallowclean was a real graveyard smash! With support from Bai360, Lush, Surfers Against Sewage, Ocean’s 8 Brighton we showed Brightonians how scary plastic can really be!

We launched our Eco-Adventure Days!

Last year our first round of eco-adventurers from local businesses tried their hand at beach cleaning for team building! Local marketing agency Brandwatch collected an impressive 100kg between 50 people in just over an hour during Summer, followed by prize giveaway and a rewarding drink at The Tempest Inn. Others soon followed suit and Yellow Fish Brighton beach cleaned for their office Christmas party! AEG Europe joined us all the way from London, saying:

“We signed up to the Office Hero Beach Clean as a perfect way to spend our annual day of giving back. The day meant we were able to get out of London and really focus on the task at hand…cleaning up the beach and reducing the amount of plastic along Brighton’s seaside! We were all shocked when we quickly learned how much plastic can easily accumulate. Amy and the team looked after us and were with us every step of the way (with some excellent emcee skills over the silent disco headphones!). I would highly recommend Pier to Pier if you’re looking for a unique opportunity to give back to the planet and make a difference!”

We're now taking team and group bookings for all of 2019! Get in touch to book!

We’re building an army of everyday eco-rebels to help us drive an eco-revolution, and dance and smile our way to a cleaner world!
