One man and his dog are walking and litter-picking the entire coast of Britain - they will arrive in Brighton this month after three years on the road and half-way through their journey, in time for our Summer Silent Disco Beach Clean!
Veteran Wayne Dixon and his dog Koda are on a mission to walk and litter-pick the entire coast of Britain. After three years on the road they will officially arrive in Brighton on 29th June and join our Summer Silent Disco Beach Clean on Sunday 30th at The Tempest Inn!
Wayne and Koda
Wayne is fulfilling a life-long dream of walking the whole of the UK coastline - and along his seven-thousand mile journey with Koda the Northern Inuit, he’s litter-picking and raising awareness about Britain’s litter issue.
Wayne and Koda have walked 3,700 miles to date with three years on the road, and are half-way through their journey. Not only is Wayne walking but he is inspiring and inviting others to join him, delivering talks and activities for schools, acting as an ambassador for Keep Britain Tidy and raising money for Mind charity and the Northern Inuit Society.
Wayne and Koda
This month Wayne has been visiting schools and delivering talks in the surrounding areas every day, with the support of The Deans Beach & Environment Volunteers. He will be in Brighton for 2 weeks before he leaves on-foot for London on a mission to hand-deliver a strong message to No. 10 Downing Street.

His first public Brighton appearance (with Koda) will be at our Summer Silent Disco Beach Clean on 30th June. The event includes a whole host of goodies and rewards for beach cleaners including educational stalls, fun workshops, fancy dress and prizes! This month beach cleaners are encouraged to come dressed in festival attire to celebrate the summer solstice and Glastonbury weekend! Music will include big summer hits and the Glastonbury line-up.
